RCMP Respond to Burglaries at Margetts Meats and The Laughing Loon

An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen from MargettsĀ Meats early Sunday morning.

Williams Lake RCMP staff Sgt. Del Byron says police responded to an alarm at the meat shop at 3:57 am and that the suspect or suspects had fled the scene before RCMP arrival.

The Williams Lake Stampede Association is asking that anyone who purchased tickets from the store for their upcoming Dinner, Dance, and Auction to contact them as soon as possible with their name, and contact info, as well as the number listed on their ticket.

UPDATE-Tuesday afternoon: “A HUGE thank you to good samaritans Dave & Bonnie, who found and returned all remaining Dinner, Dance & Auction tickets, as well as all the ticket stubs for those previously sold. Tickets are once again available at Margetts Meats.”

RCMP had also responded to a burglary at The Laughing Loon on Friday, February 10 at 7:18 am.

Byron says a substantial amount of liquor was stolen.

Anyone with further information on either of these incidents is asked to contact the Williams Lake RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
