CCRHD Urges Government to make Region’s Hospital Projects a Priority

The Cariboo Chilcotin Regional Hospital District Board of Directors will be sending a letter to the Ministry of Health to urge them to maintain the priority of hospital projects in Williams Lake and Quesnel.

“We had a dialogue about the impending election. There are a number of health care capital projects being announced by the government and we want to make sure that they haven’t forgotten about these two very significant projects,” says vice-chair Bob Simpson.

He says they will also be reminding the Ministry that the projects-a rebuild of the Cariboo Memorial Hospital and either a phased-in project or a complete rebuild of the GR Baker Hospital, need to be done in a timely manner and that they would like to see some announcements for the Cariboo Chilcotin as well.

The letter will also be forwarded to local MLAs Donna Barnett and Coralee Oakes as well as local First Nations.
