Santa Claus will be leaving his workshop at the North Pole early to travel throughout the Miocene community with the help of the Volunteer Fire Department.
Fire Chief Stan Pogue shares how the tradition which is now in its fifth year got started.
“I read an article on another fire department had done something to give back to their local community and they had taken an old sleigh and put it on top of a fire truck.”
“So I took that idea and took it back to our members and said hey, how about this and one of our members has an old antique sleigh.”
Santa will arrive at the first cattle guard at Spokin Lake Road at 4 pm where he will continue his 3 and 1/2 hour journey throughout the community making his last stop down at Branch Drive.
He’ll be giving out candy canes and toys to all good residents young and old alike.
