Ski resorts finally open after delays due to unexpected warm spell

After being delayed for over a week due to the unexpected snowmelt, many ski-resorts across the Cariboo were able to open yesterday.

Adam Piccolo, general manager of Mount Timothy Ski Resort, says he was thrilled they were able to hold finally their “soft opening”.

“We were working really hard to get open and to the runs to a safe position.”

“Luckily we got a big dump of snow (17 centimeters) and everything looked great,” Piccolo says.

“The staff was absolutely ecstatic to get open.”

Troll Mountain Resort also opened yesterday with cross-country skiers also rejoicing as Bull Mountain opened as well.
