Wildwood Volunteer Fire Department completes Playbook Training

Diligent work paid off for junior members of the Wildwood Volunteer Fire Department.

Cariboo Regional District Area Director ‘D’, Steve Forseth recently presented them with their Playbook Training Certificates.

He says volunteer fire departments play a tremendous role in the communities that they serve.

“Particularly when it’s tough to get people to volunteer now a days for a variety of factors, and in some of our departments they also play a role with 1st responder for basic ambulance needs until the actual BC ambulance service guys show up. It’s just fantastic to have people volunteer.”

Forseth says he can’t say enough how thankful he is for the members being so giving of their time and talents.

The Playbook Training which provides a minimum level of training and operational requirements that must be met by each fire department is set by the Fire Commissioner’s Office in Victoria.

The Cariboo Regional District has imposed a deadline for the training to be completed on all 14 of the Volunteer Fire Departments within the District.
