RCMP Corporal shot on December 3rd moves out of ICU

The condition of an injured RCMP member, who spent 6 years in Quesnel, is improving.

Kamloops RCMP says Cpl John Rene Michaud, who was shot while on duty, has now been moved out of the intensive care unit.

Cpl Michaud stopped a vehicle back in the early morning hours of Dec. 3 and was shot as he approached the car.

A day-long manhunt ensued, leading up to the arrest of 36-year-old Kenneth Michael Knutson.

Michaud, a 40-year old father of two, was a member of the Quesnel Detachment from 2001 to 2006.
