Big Brothers Big Sisters In Quesnel Gets Financial Help

Big Brothers Big Sisters in Quesnel have been given a financial boost from the Vanderhoof and Districts Co-op.

The group has received a donation of 36-hundred dollars to help Big Brothers Big Sisters of Quesnel expand their Teen Mentoring Program.

Michelle Riley, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Quesnel, says the money “will allow 30 grade 11 students and 30 Kindergarten students to be matched for one semester, meeting at the elementary school for 1.5 hours per week.”

Riley says “the teen mentors will receive course credits and volunteer hours.”

Allan Bieganski, General Manager for Vanderhoof and Districts Co-op, says the donation comes out of their new Community Support Fund adding that Quesnel is one of the eleven recipients for 2016.
