Gymnastics club to resume after asbestos scare

The Quesnel Gymnastics Club is now satisfied that Maple Drive School is safe.

Nicole Aracki, the Club’s Secretary, says all of the Board members have children in the programs and they are now very confident that the concern of asbestos has been lifted.

She says she actually went into the building and spoke with the contractors who gave her some pretty detailed information about how they were cleaning it and how they were seeing off the cracks to prevent any more vermiculite from coming down the walls.

Aracki says they appreciate how quickly School District 28 dealt with the problem.

She says Gymnastics classes will resume after the Christmas break on January 4th.

The Club was temporarily shut down back on December 16th after some vermiculite dust was discovered in the gym.
