Snow Arrives without the help of Mother Nature for Williams Lake Winter Carnival

Some much needed snow came early Tuesday morning for the upcoming Williams Lake Winter Carnival.

Darrick Boyes is the president of the event.

“Fred from Blocks R Us has always helped us every year with different things and yesterday he gave me a call in the morning and said what are you going to do about snow and I said I don’t know yet. He said well, I got dump trucks and you got to find the loader. So I got the City to get the loader up and brought it all into the park and we got some from the airport.”

Boyes says they even have a little lake forming in the middle of the park and that if it freezes in time they might be able to use it for skating.

He adds that volunteers are still needed for the event which will run from 10:30am until 3pm this Saturday and Sunday at Boitanio Park.
