Air Quality Advisory in Effect for Quesnel and Williams Lake

The Ministry of Environment in collaboration with Northern has issued an Air Quality Advisory for Quesnel and Williams Lake.

High concentrations of fine particulate matter are expected to persist until the weather changes.

“Exposure to fine particulate matter is of particular concern for infants, the elderly and those who have diabetes, and lung or heart disease,” the Ministry states in a media release.

Persons with chronic underlying medical conditions should postpone strenuous exercise until the advisory is lifted.

If you are experiencing symptoms such as continuing eye or throat irritation, chest discomfort,shortness of breath, cough or wheezing, follow the advice of your health care provider.

Another prescribed burn is scheduled to begin later this week.

Williams Lake RCMP arrest wanted man

RCMP arrested a wanted man who was a suspect in a violent break and enter that occurred last week. The man is being held in custody to appear before the court.
