Family Literacy Week Starts Today

A week which promotes important role families play in their children’s learning and development starts today.

Lil Mack is the board director for Cariboo Chilcotin Partners for Literacy (CCPL).

“For me literacy is passion. It removes barrier whether they are economic, social, or personal barriers, and allows people to be the best that they can.”

Mack says that she thinks it’s great that the province will be marking Family Literacy as well, although she believes Williams Lake is ahead of curve having proclaimed it for years.

She says there will be puppet show at the library, as well as Family Fest to round out the week on January 29 at the Gibraltar room.

Something going on in the Cariboo you think people should know about?
