Walk for ALS in Williams Lake at risk of being cancelled

The 6th Annual Walk for ALS in Williams Lake is in danger of being cancelled this year.

Manager of volunteer and resource development with the ALS Society of BC, Iman Ghahremani says they’re still looking for volunteers to step forward to fill an important role.

“The previous coordinators were absolutely amazing. They were the ones that actually started this event and they ended up giving us a 5 year commitment which is absolutely unbelievable, but it is a reality that after five years of commitment we are looking to recruit a new coordinator.”

Ghahremani says that more than $100,000 has been raised through the ALS Walk in Williams Lake to fund research and  provide support for those living with ALS.

“We have had some interest, but not further than simply interest and we’re really eagerly looking to try to recruit someone. Obviously training and full support would be provided.”

He says if anyone is interested in the role to contact him.
