Snowless grounds will not impact next weekend’s 3rd annual Winter Carnival in Williams Lake.
President of the Carnival, Darrick Boyes says they’re not concerned of the recent melt.
“We’ve got many plans in place. We’ve got a lot of experience with our snow melting from last year and the year before and we’re 100% prepared to make the necessary changes. Unfortunately we are going to lose one event-cross-country skiing unless we mysteriously get some snow before the event.”
Boyes says they have some events planned that will tie in with their kiddie corral for the younger crowd including mazes and hockey shootouts.
The Carnival runs from 10:30 am to 3pm on January 28 and 29 with the ribbon cutting kicking off at 10:15 on Saturday.
