Quesnel Fire Department Responds to 2 Suspicious Fires

Members of the Quesnel Fire Department responded to two suspicious fires Friday.

Fire Chief Sylvain Gauthier says they were dispatched to a possible structure on the 700 block of Front Street at 5 am.

“On arrival we noticed that there was a small fire in the front of the property and it was quickly extinguished with very, very minimal damage to the structure itself.”

Gauthier says on the way back to the Department, one of the engines noticed a dumpster fire at the corner of Kinchant and Shepard.

He says both fires have been deemed suspicious and are being investigated by RCMP.
