Fire damages home

A home was severely damaged by fire in the North Cariboo early yesterday morning.

The West Fraser Volunteer Fire Department was called out to a house fire in the 500 block of Marsh Road at around 2 o’clock.

Fire Chief Phil Megyesi says there were flames in the ground floor entryway when they arrived and he says it quickly spread to the 2nd floor where it was extinguished.

No one was hurt but Megyesi says there was extensive damage done to the interior of the home.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

West Fraser received some mutual aid from the Bouchie Lake Volunteer Fire Department.
