Teddies, toques, and mittens tossed at Stamps’ home game

The Williams Lake Stampeders had success in not only defeating the Quesnel Kangaroos 7-2 Saturday, but also in their 1st ever Toque, Mitten, and Teddy Bear Toss.

Kalvin Dubray, Director of Marketing and Sponsorship with the Stamps says even players were eager to help the cause.

“After the 1st Intermission there, they actually stayed on the bench and threw stuff onto the ice as well to help out and then they went around collecting.”

“They were pretty impressed and they were clapping and thanking the crowd.”

“It was a pretty successful event and we’re probably going to look at doing it again next year.”

Dubray says the team collected 10 big bags of toques, mittens, and teddy bears from the toss which will go to the Boys and Girls Club of Williams Lake to distribute to needy children.

The Stamps will take on the Quesnel Kangaroos yet again on the 27th at 7:30 pm this time away from home ice.
