Reading Success for School District 27 students

School District 27 is seeing success in student reading according to the District’s Superintendent.

Mark Thiessen contributes the encouraging results on staff development.

“I attribute lots of our success to teachers themselves, who are working hard behind the scenes to become better teachers of reading.”

“Teachers have always seen themselves as teachers of reading and I think that we continue to stress that all of us need to find reading important.”

The results which came from grade 4 and grade 7 student assessments show that School District 27 students have improved better than the student average across the province when it comes to reading skills.
