It is cold but not record-breaking cold.
That sums up the temperatures in the Cariboo this week.
Ross MacDonald,a Meteorologist with Environment Canada, says “We usually see a daytime of high of about -3 and an overnight low of about -10 so with our daytime highs struggling to get above -20 we’re looking at temperatures on average between 15 and 20 degrees below normal, so significantly colder than normal.”
MacDonald says while the temperatures have dropped into the -25 degree area this week they are not records however.
The record for Williams Lake yesterday was -33 set back in 1995 and -27 in Quesnel set in 2007.
MacDonald says this cold snap is expected to last through next week.
