More details have been released regarding a collision that claimed 2 lives in the South Cariboo earlier this week.
The collision happened at 9:02 AM Monday morning on HWY 97 approximately 5km south of Lac La Hache.
CPL Madonna Saunderson with the north district RCMP gives us more details.
“The north bound pickup had crossed the center line and collided head on with a south bound Kia Soul, sadly both drivers of the vehicles were killed on impact.”
Saunderson says the names of both males, aged 55 and 48, are not being released at this time.
Although all causal factors are not yet known, police say that at the time of the crash the highway was slippery with snow and ice covered sections.
Saunderson would like to remind the public to drive according to the road conditions and to be aware of how quickly the weather can change.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call the 100 Mile House RCMP.
