Cariboo North MLA Coralee Oakes has been making the rounds announcing money for affordable housing in the Quesnel area.
The first was on Saturday and focused on 2.5 million dollars for the Quesnel Lions Housing Society to support their 30-unit project for seniors at the corner of Reid Street and McNaughton Avenue.
Oakes then announced another 4.2 million dollars on Monday for the Dalkelh and Quesnel Community Housing Society for a 38 unit project at 424 McLean Street…
They do a lot of great work that I think a lot of people may not realize the work they are doing to really support single parents and low income folks in the community and they’ve got some wonderful programs that i highly encourage people to look at how they can support.”
Oakes says the volunteers for both of these projects deserve a lot of credit for their hard work.
