School District 27 Trustees Inaugurated

Trustees for School District 27 were sworn into office Tuesday evening.

Zone 4 Trustee Christine Dyment, who is serving for the School District for the first time, could not be happier.

“I’ve done a lot with the School District. This is just my next step up.”

“I’m looking to forward to working with everyone on this level.”

Zone 5 Trustee Sheila Boehm, who is serving a second term after defeating former CRD Director Deb Bischoff, says she is anticipating that the Trustees will work together to address the gap between First Nations and non-First Nations.

“The focus I’m hoping is on our out West and of course in the fringe or in the areas of Zone 5, which is the outskirts of Williams Lake and also include a large majority of First Nations.”

“We’re just hoping that is the next 4 years, and really bridging that gap.”

Joining Dyment and Boehm as School District 27 Trustees are Linda Nielsen (Zone 1), Tanya Guenther (Zone 2), Chris Pettman (Zone 3), Brice O’Neill (Zone 6), and Joyce Cooper (Zone 7).

Assuming the Board chair by Trustee vote is Tanya Guenther as Board Chair and Joyce Cooper as Board Vice-Chair.
