Quesnel RCMP respond to fatal roll-over involving 71-year old male

The Quesnel RCMP say one man is dead after a single vehicle roll over on Highway 26 near Shaver Road.

The incident occurred on Saturday just after 2 o’clock in the afternoon when a Ford F-150 pick-up truck was found upside down in a ditch and partially submerged in water.

The driver was a 71-year old man who was transported to hospital where he later died of his injuries. His name has not yet been released, pending notification of his family.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Quesnel RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

BCGEU strike headed to mediation

The B.C. General Employees' Union (BCGEU) and the provincial government have agreed to enter non-binding mediation, expected to begin as soon as possible. Mary spent decades in public serivce as a City Councillor then the first female Mayor of Quesnel before being the Director for Electoral Area A of the Cariboo Regional District, on top of being a member of countless committee boards across the region.
