Williams Lake celebrates multiculturalism award winner

A young woman from the prairies heads off to a university in Wales and winds up receiving an award in Williams Lake.

That’s the journey of discovery for Williams Lake’s Margaret-Anne Enders.

Enders was awarded a multiculturalism award as part of the province’s Multicultural awareness week for her untiring work in the field through the Williams Lake Branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association.

Enders, the multicultural coordinator for the local branch of the CMHA explains why she sees multiculturalism and mental health as two fingers in the same glove…”I see and I hear from people the effects that that has on them as individuals and their mental health and on their relationships and how that affects us as a society.”

One of the things Enders accomplished early on, with the help of others, was writing a multicultural cook book.

The cookbook is titled “Spicing up the Cariboo”.
