Auction Raises Thousands For Palliative Care

More than 20 thousand dollars was raised once again this year at the Quesnel and District Hospice Palliative Care Association’s annual dinner and auction.

It took place at the Seniors Centre on Saturday (Nov 19) night.

Sherry Webster, the event organizer, says the money will remain in Quesnel and will go a long way towards making things more comfortable for those in palliative care.

Webster says one of the things they bought this past year was a more than 7 thousand dollar special mattress for G.R. Baker Hospital.

She says it eliminates the need to turn a mattress to prevent bed soars as it does it for you.

Webster says they also purchased an awning for the Hospice House so clients can go outside and be protected from the sun and a breast pump for a palliative baby.
