Quesnel City Council is exploring the possibility of a developing a municipal campground and downtown RV parking to capture more rubber road traffic.
And to that end it will apply for 40 thousand dollars worth of funding…20 thousand each from the Northern Development Initiative Trust and the Cariboo Chilcotin Beetle Action Coalition.
Economic Development Officer Amy Reid says the money would be used for a cost benefit analysis for a municipal campground and associated amenities, a proposed business analysis for the campground, proposed locations for both the campground and RV camping and a suggested marking plan to attract travelers.
The idea came out of strategic planning and making Quesnel a destination and not just a place to drive through.
