Cariboo Runners Put Best Foot Forward At Provincials

An impressive result for a South Cariboo runner at the High School Cross Country Running Provincials in Kelowna on Saturday.(Nov 5)

Brandon Balbirnie, a student at Peter Skene Ogden Secondary School, was 7th out of 222 in the Senior Boys race.

Balbirnie was just 28 seconds out of a podium finish.

Dane Jacobsen, representing Corrilieu, was the top Quesnel finisher in 80th out of 222.

Aleesha Bautista, also from Correlieu, was 25th out of 197 in the Junior Girls race.

Hannah Vaughn-Ferell and Megan Strand, both from Quesnel Junior School, were 89th and 93rd respectively.

Olivia Baptiste was 44th out of 223 in the Senior Girls race while her Correlieu teammate, Olivia Moody, was 62nd.
