It Was Just A Normal Wet October In The Cariboo

While October may have felt wet and soggy to Cariboo residents it really wasn’t unusual, at least according to Environment Canada.

Meteorologist Armel Castellan says Quesnel normally gets around 52-53 millimetres of rain and received 53 this time.

Williams Lake, on the other hand, did get a little more than normal, 54 as opposed to 41, but still nothing significant…

To put that in perspective, Castellan says Quesnel got 38 millimetres of rain in one day alone back in 1972.

He says Quesnel didn’t even get one day over 10 millimetres last month and Williams Lake only had two…13.4 millimetres on the 7th and then 10.2 on the 8th.

Castellan says there were a lot of days with a little bit of rain however, which he says may be the reason people may have felt that it was wetter than normal.
