Quesnel Girl Up For Provincial Award

A Quesnel girl has been nominated for a Provincial Award.

Kyra Buchan is a regional winner for a 2016 Premiers Award for Aboriginal Youth Excellence in Sports.

Earlier this year Buchan earned a spot on the Under-19 BC Girls Softball team that will compete at the National Aboriginal Indigenous Games in Toronto.

The award recognizes youth for not only outstanding achievement in sport but also commitment and dedication to education, culture and leadership.

The Provincial award will be announced at the Aboriginal Youth Leadership forum in Kelowna in March.
