Fireworks Safety Reminder

Although they are fun, fireworks can also be quite dangerous and there are certain regulations that must be followed before lighting up the skies this Halloween.

In the district of 100 Mile House for example you do require a permit that can be picked up at the village office and you must be at least 18 years or older to possess that permit.

Each municipality in the Cariboo Regional District is different however and it is recommended to contact your local RCMP detachment to find out your local by-laws.

CPL Brian Lamp from the 100 Mile House RCMP does have one message in general he would like to pass along to the public.

“Ya I think the biggest thing is safety, if you are going to use fireworks use them safely, don’t try to modify them and try to use them at a reasonable hour.”

Lamb says noise by-laws in the CRD begin at 10pm.
