SD 27 grabs lions share of provincial school transportation funding

School District 27, Cariboo-ChilcotinĀ is getting the largest single amount of funding under the provinces Student Transportation Fund.
TheĀ fund was announced back in August and all 60 school districts were able to apply and in fact, all did and all have been approved.
School District 27 is receiving over 739-thousand dollars, theĀ biggest grant in the program.
The range is from just over six-thousand dollars for New Westminster to the 739-thousand for the Cariboo-Chilcotin.
Other area districts receiving healthy amounts include Prince George, just over 687-thousand, Quesnel, 274-thousand and Kamloops-Thompson more than 666-thousand dollars.
In all districts the money will be used to enhance busing and transportation issues for students by erasing bus fees,Ā upgrading safety, adding new routes, increasing safety training for bus drivers and many other transportation -related issues.
