Quesnel Businesses Honored

Quesnel’s 22nd annual Business Excellence Awards were held at the Senior’s Centre on Saturday (Oct 22) night.

And the 2016 Business Person of the Year is Gilbert Schotel with Big Country Printers….

“I would like to thank the Chamber for hosting the event and thank both the community and the business community in Quesnel because this is a wonderful place to do business and again it is a great honor to be both nominated and to win and be recognized by the community.”

Gilbert also thanked his employees for their hard work.

Darby Apps, with Darby’s Small Engine Repairs, was the Young Business Person of the Year.

Garret Pristie with Mr. Mikes was named Employee of the Year.

Barkerville Brewing Company won Business of the Year under 10 employees while Save On Foods won for over 10 employees.

Bliss captured two awards…a Community Spirit Award and a Community Inclusion Award.

Cindy Osip with Victim Services won a Customer Service Award, Throughout Time Photography is the Home Based Business of the Year and Big Canyon Rafting won the Tourism Excellence Award.
