Barnett gets ministry post

She has served as a deputy minister in the Christie Clark government and now Donna Barnett is getting her own ministry.

Premier Christy Clark announced her intention to have Barnett sworn in as Minister of State for Rural Economic Development.

She will be sworn in by Her Honour, Lieutenant-Governor Judith Guichon.

In making today’s announcement, Clark says every community in the province benefits when our rural communities are strong.”

Adding, “Donna Barnett is a proven champion for rural development who will strengthen our cabinet team as B.C. leads the country in economic growth and jobs, and as we work together to put British Columbians first.”

Also part of today’s announcement , a change in parliamentary secretaries.

Marc Dalton, MLA for Maple Ridge-Mission, is now Parliamentary Secretary for Métis Relations for Minister of Aboriginal Relations and
Reconciliation John Rustad.
