Quesnel Rec Centre Workers Get New Deal

Unionized workers at Arts and Recreation Centre in Quesnel have a new deal with the City.

Dave Rollo, the President of CUPE Local 10-50 as well as 1050-01, says they basically got the same deal.

He says it is a 4-year deal with wage increase of 1.5, 1.5, 2 and 2 percent respectively along with some moderate benefit improvements.

Rollo says it was a fairly easy process as the 35 to 40 employees at the Rec Centre basically got the same deal that City workers ratified back in June.

He says this deal, which was hammered out in just two days, was ratified by a fairly large majority.
