Quesnel Robbery Suspect Now Charged

A 48-year old Quesnel man has now been charged in connection with this week’s robbery that left a local motorist shaken.

Robert John Paine is facing one count each of Robbery, Forcible Confinement and Uttering Threats.

Paine will be back in court on the 18th.

RCMP were called to West Quesnel just after 11 o’clock on Tuesday (0ct 11) night after a suspect allegedly entered a victim’s vehicle and demanded cash.

Police say the suspect, after taking some money, then forced the motorist to drive him to another location where he then exited the vehicle allowing the victim to leave the area and seek help.

RCMP say the victim was not injured but was very shaken.
