Quesnel City Council and Mayor Sworn In

Quesnel City Council was packed Monday night as the new Council was sworn in, including new Mayor Bob Simpson.

Simpson spoke of engaging the public more deeply in the challenges that the City will soon be facing…

“I’ve asked for our community partners to start speaking to us on the public record about what their concerns are for the next 4 years and 10 years in our community.”

“I believe the public deserves to know some of the concerns that are being raised privately or have been raised with elected officials privately so that you understand the context within which we’re going to have to make some courageous decisions.”

Simpson also challenged the public to be engaged and to be involved in finding the solutions.

Returning Councillors Scott Elliott, Ed Coleman, John Brisco, Laurey-Anne Roodenburg and Shushil Thapar also gave their inaugural reports along with Ron Paull, who is back at the Council table after missing one term.
