WL Salvation Army feeds Thanksgiving meal

Captain’s Stephen and Millie French of the Salvation Army have only been in Williams Lake three months but already feel the Cariboo city is one of the most generous postings they have served in their 50 years of ministry.

Yesterday the Salvation Army served nearly two-hundred Thanksgiving meals, but as Captain Steve reminds us, special meals are only a portion of what they do…”well, we serve two meals a day, five days a week; that’s ongoing, the next big event I guess would be, for a meal, would be Christmas.”

In addition to the soup kitchen, the local Salvation Army also runs the Williams Lake Food Bank and several programs aimed at helping those marginalized by society.
