Cougars Salvage Split In Dying Seconds

The Cariboo Cougars earned a weekend split as two of the top teams in BC Major Midget Hockey League went toe to toe in Prince George over the weekend.

The Cougars were hammered 8-0 by the visiting Valley West Hawks on Saturday but managed to bounce back for an exciting victory on Sunday.

Williams Lake’s Daine Dubois scored the winner in the dying moments of overtime for a 4-3 Cougars’ win.

He also had 2 assists in the game.

Quesnel’s Myles Mattila also picked up a helper as the Cougars improved to 5 and 1 on the season.

That has them tied for 2nd out of the 11 teams, one point behind the Hawks.
