Gun Amnesty in full swing for month of October

Residents all across British Columbia are now able to unload old guns, ammunition, and other weapons during a province wide gun amnesty for the month of October.

According to the RCMP the amnesty will apply to any documented or undocumented firearms and other weapons, including restricted and prohibited ones that have not been used for a criminal purpose.

The purpose of the month long amnesty is to keep these weapons from ever ending up in the hands of criminals.

Police would like to remind interested owners to contact their local detachment to arrange for officers to attend and retrieve the weapons.
