Quesnel Student Enrollment Numbers Better Than What Was Predicted

A pleasant surprise.

That’s how the Secretary-Treasurer of the Quesnel School District describes their early enrollment figures.

Bettina Ketcham says enrollment as of September 14th was 3,062 students, which was more than they expected…

“In terms of comparisons….our budgeted numbers for this year was 2,973, so we’re actually 89 students higher than projected. And last year’s enrollment as of the end of the school year in June was 3.065 so we’re only 3 students down from where we ended the school year last year.”

Ketcham says it appears that enrollment has finally leveled off in the District.

She says the added students will have a positive impact on the budget, although she figures it will only a nominal amount, somewhere in the 30 thousand dollar range.

Final enrollment numbers will be forwarded to the Education Ministry by the end of the month.
