CPR a Critical Life Skill: Health Officials

Health officials are spreading awareness of how critical a skill CPR can be.

Health Minister Terry Lake says that in a cardiac situation, every minute that passes reduces the chance of survival by 10%.

Thompson Rivers University offers courses of varying intensity in CPR at both campuses in 100 Mile House and Williams Lake, according to the University’s community coordinator Robin Burkowski.

2,000 British Columbians die of cardiac arrest with many of these deaths being preventable if responded to immediately by a trained individual every year.
