Quesnel Minor Football teams kicked off their season in Prince George over the weekend.

Will Neighbour scored four touchdowns for the Junior Bantams but it wasn’t enough as they lost 45 to 27.

The Pee Wees were on the short end of a 51 to 6 score.

Quarterback Isaiah Bagri, playing in his first game, had Quesnel’s only touchdown in that game.

Williams Lake’s Ryan Glanville had the scoring touch as the Thompson Rivers University men’s soccer team hosted the University of Northern BC in Kamloops.

Glanville had two goals in a losing cause on Saturday as UNBC came out on top 3-2.

He added two more on Sunday in a 3-nil win for TRU.

And a Riske Creek cowboy continues to inch closer to his first trip to the Canadian Rodeo Finals in Edmonton.

Virgil Poffenroth was 5th in the Tie Down Roping in Medicine Hat over the weekend.

A time of 9-flat paid 340 dollars and he continues to hold down 12th place, which is the final spot that will qualify.

That is about 640 dollars clear of 13th with just three rodeos to go.

Also from Medicine Hat, Kirsty White of 150-Mile continued her great season.

She remains 2nd overall in the Ladies Barrel Racing after a 3rd place finish for another 478 dollars.
