Oakes Seeks Re-election !

It’s official !

Cariboo North Liberal MLA Coralee Oakes will seek a 2nd term.

Oakes, in making her decision, says it’s the work in the constituency that she enjoys most…

“One of the things i like most is having our mobile office where we go into, you know the communities, and set up in a firehall or a picnic table and really listen to the types of projects and things that residents are really passionate about and i think getting back out into the communities is what refuels MLA’s.”

Oakes says some of the highlights for her in her first term were the money for rural schools throughout BC but also in Quesnel to be able to keep Kersley and Parkland elementary schools open, the upcoming pilot project in Quesnel on job creation and hosting the entire cabinet back in June.

Oakes says she would like to host the cabinet in Barkerville next…something that Premier Bill Bennett did back in the day.

Something going on in the Cariboo you think people should know about?
