Charges Laid In Connection With Serious Quesnel Incident

Charges have now been laid in connection with a serious incident in Quesnel earlier this week.

40-year old Aaron James Dunlop is facing 7 counts….Unlawful Confinement, Assault with a Weapon, Uttering Threats, Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Mischief under 5 thousand dollars and two charges of Breech of Recognizance.

Dunlop is due back in court on Tuesday. (Sept 13)

Quesnel RCMP were called to a residence in the 900 block of Anderson Drive in West Quesnel at around 11-30 this past Tuesday night.

They had received a complaint that a suspect had entered an acquaintances’ residence armed with a knife.

Police say the man was reportedly distraught and under the influence of drugs and was causing damage to the property inside.

The area was cordoned off and Extra resources were called in, including a crisis negotiator, who was able to get the man to surrender without further incident.

Fortunately no one was hurt.
