SCSAR helps save lives near Clinton

A Clinton area woman and man remain in hospital following a serious single vehicle collision on High Bar Road near Clinton, BC Sunday.

Tasked with saving the couple shortly after 4am that morning were Search and Rescue crews from Kamloops and the South Cariboo.

We spoke to local SCSAR manager James Seeley about the rescue:

Seeley says their pick-up truck was lodged just right so as not to fall another few hundred feet down the embankment. He says they are, “lucky to be alive,” and that he hasn’t many scenarios like this in his 40 year career as a SAR member and firefighter.

Clinton RCMP go on to say three others were in the vehicle but somehow escaped danger and made it to a nearby property to call for help.

Police have not ruled out alcohol as a contributing factor.

Also on scene were BC Ambulance and Clinton Fire Rescue. The couple is in their thirties according to Mounties who ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call them at 250-459-2221.
