Snowy Conditions To Continue Across Cariboo

Snowfall warnings continue to remain in effect for much of the Cariboo.

Trevor Smith who is a Meteorologist with Environment Canada says a lot of snow is expected to fall for the next few days.

“We’re probably going to see between 20 to 30 centimeters in the Cariboo area including Quesnel and Williams Lake.”

“For today, we’ll probably be getting 10 centimeters of snow.”

Smith contributes the snowy conditions to a clash of the air masses.

“We’ve got a warm, moist Pacific system colliding with the Arctic as it’s kind of gathering strength over Northern BC.”

Smith adds that as the snow begins to taper off late tomorrow afternoon, we can expect colder temperatures.

“Towards the end of the week that Arctic air is eventually going to win out and chase away all Pacific air off to the East.”

“We’re going to see a lot colder and drier conditions.”
