Quesnel To Apply For Student Transportation Dollars

The Chair of Quesnel’s Board of Education obviously welcomes the announcement made yesterday by the province to spend 14.7 million dollars to improve transportation in rural school districts.

Tony Goulet says it will be helpful in many ways.

“So under that fund we can apply and it gives a criteria that we can apply for funding to reduce riding times, improve service by adding new or amended routes and we are actually eligible for funding to do so so we will be applying in the next couple of weeks.”

Goulet says he’s not sure how much they are eligible for.

He says transportation makes up about 1.8 million dollars of their budget though so anything will help.
