former williams lake coach not surprised by moleschi’s success

Williams Lake rugby players and fans of Kayla Moleschi were in 7th heaven yesterday afternoon when she and her team mates won Olympic bronze in the Womens sevens Rugby in Rio.

Todd Pritchard is a former high school coach of Moleschi’s and he says he’s still smiling after yesterdays win and also says he isn’t surprised that she made the team.

“She has been playing at that level with the Canadian team for I think she’s been in the program for eight years, maybe longer than that, nine years. I mean she has done the work and I had the opportunity to watch her play down in Langford. They’re just so fit, they’re so skilled, they’re full-time rugby players, they’re just so incredible”.

When asked what he saw in her at that early stage of her career, Pritchard said “a great athlete with a great desire to compete”.
