Body Recovered In Fraser River Near Dog Creek

The body of a 35-year old Deep Creek man who fell into the Fraser River while fishing has now been recovered.

Williams Lake RCMP received a report on Friday afternoon of a body in the River about 3 kilometres north of Dog Creek.

Police, with the assistance of BC Conservation Officers and RCMP Air 3 support, were able to recover the body.

It has been positively identified as Shane Colebank.

He fell into the river near the Xatsull Heritage Site Road area in Soda Creek back on July 31st but an extensive ground, air and river search failed to locate him.

His family has set up a Go Fund Me account to set up registered education savings plans for his three children.
