Cariboo Cowboy Has Best Pro Rodeo Weekend Yet

A Riske Creek cowboy had his best performance to date on the Canadian Pro Rodeo tour over the long weekend.

Virgil Poffenroth was 2nd in the first go in the Tie Down Roping in Strathmore, Alberta.

His time was 8 and 6 for more than 18-hundred dollars.

Poffenroth was also 9 and 1 in the second go for another 856 dollars and he ended up 5th in the average with a time of 30 and 8 on three head for 14-hundred 88 dollars.

All tolled he earned in excess of 41-hundred dollars.

Two other Cariboo competitors cashed cheques over the long weekend.

Kirsty White, from 150 Mile, won the Ladies Barrel Racing in Bruce and was 3rd in Medicine Hat for more than 38-hundred dollars and Brooke Wills, from Quesnel originally, was 13th in the Barrels in Medicine Hat for 342 dollars.
