100 mile house fire rescue kept busy

100 MILE House Fire Rescue responded to two calls yesterday evening.

The first was a motor vehicle incident which Fire Chief Roger Hollander describes the scene.

“Last night at approximately 11pm our crews responded to a motor vehicle incident  involving a car that appeared to have struck a parked semi trailer on the side of the road on Highway 97 near Canim Hendrix Road. We did discover a lone occupant in the drivers seat and that person suffered serious injuries and was trapped in the vehicle”.

Hollander says the driver was extricated from the vehicle by 100 Mile House Fire Rescue members and placed in the care of BC Ambulance.

Immediately following this incident, 100 Mile Fire Rescue responded to a fire at Norbord OSB Mill where crews assisted mill staff in extinguishing the isolated fire.
